New Paint
I have never lived in the same house for more than three years.
While I was growing up, my father was in the Navy so we moved around a
lot. Valerie and I purchased our first house in Morgan
Hill. We lived there for just under three years before moving to
New Hampshire. We lived in New Hampshire for about a year and a
half, then in Santa Clarita for another year and a half before coming
to Hawaii. This house in Hawaii is the fourth home we've owned
yet it's the first place we've lived with no intention of ever moving
away.
To celebrate our new-found permanence, Valerie decided to paint the
living room. It's the first time she's felt complete freedom to
use whatever colors she wants without having to worry about potential
resale value. She drew her inspiration from a picture that Sarah
had painted. The she got lucky and found some Oops paint at Home
Depot what was just the right colors for only $10. I had been
busy working when before I knew it, Valerie had the entire room
repainted. The hardest part was reaching the top of the
wall. Of course, Emily "helped" too.
The master bedroom and bathroom are currently pink. I hope Valerie
attacks those rooms next.
Also, in case you're wondering, the grass in the pot on the speaker is
from a project Emily did in Kindergarten, it's not "decoration" from
our yard. The flowers next to the stereo are from the yard.
