Vacation
2 March 2009

February is a great time of year to visit a Kona coffee farm in Hawaii.  My brother and his wife recently came for a visit from Colorado.  We get a lot of visitors and can't always take as much time off as we'd like.  Having extra help around the farm does help though so we usually manage to take a little more time off than usual.

Orchid
The Kona climate is perfect for wild orchids.
Lei
The girls picked some orchids then made a flower lei for Aunt Natalie.
Airplane
It's nice to finally get off the airplane in Hawaii after a long flight.
Beach
The girls dug a hole in the sand while Uncle James headed out to the waves.
Sun
After a few hours in the sun, it was time to hide in the shade.
Pyramid
Faulk, James and Natalie
Cherry
Ripe Kona coffee, ready to be picked.
Pulping
Pulping the freshly picked Kona coffee.
Raking
Kona coffee needs to be raked often while it dries.
Telescope
The telescopes on Mauna Kea are nearly 14,000 feet high.

Hiking across the snow at the peak of Mauna Kea.

Getting ready to jump in the ocean.

Taking a break to enjoy some fresh 100% Kona coffee.
